Kevin Collins ….(Flint, MI.) Kuungana African Drum and Dance Troupe
 
Kevin Collins is a respected percussionist who shares his love of African music through lively, participatory performances. He brings with him an impressive collection of traditional percussion instruments from Africa. Children and adults will find his performances entertaining and educational as they learn what a “Djembe” is used for and get the opportunity to play it! In addition to his professional work performing with big bands and his own jazz band, Collins works extensively with children. He directs an ongoing African Drum and Dance Troupe in Flint. He has presented many concerts and participated in arts education programs in Flint and throughout Michigan. His experience and enthusiasm combine to provide a unique musical experience.
 

Deep Fried Pickle Project (St. Joseph, MI.)….live music and or workshop.
 We are dedicated to music education. Our Kindermusic Workshops teach kids and adults how to make homemade instruments out of recyclable materials!
 
 Construct a DoodleBass! Build a Cigar Box Banjo! Make a Kazoo, or How about a Janglestick? The Pickles will show you how to build and play these zany, multicolored music-makers. Start your own homemade band and lead the parade.
 
 These workshops have been a hit at festivals, parades, pediatric hospitals and community centers around North America, bringing the joy of music to thousands of children and adults.
 
 DFPP also likes to perform for children. The Pickle Boys present concerts for kids in pediatric hospitals, community concerts and benefits. DFPP has produced two great Kids CDs and have been feature on PBS TV “Buster” show.
 


Roots Rock Society (Chicago, IL)………live music and or kids workshop.
 Roots Rock Society keeping culture and heritage alive through music. Educates about the origin of music, the voice as the first instrument, the use of drums for communication, learn about the intertwining of different cultures so we have a better understanding of each other. Lots of audience participation and attendees can perform live with Roots Rock Society. This workshop targets kids 6 to 16.

 Learn your favorite party dances!… Your group will dances to popular songs. Easy to follow, step-by-step instructions allow everyone to participate in the fun! Have the show that gets everyone involved.
