What is Zydecrunch? Good question. Brought together by long time
friends Mike Lynch and Steve Olson, Zydecrunch was formed simply as
an excuse to dabble in Americana before it was hip to do so. Taking
acues from the south of New Orleans Rhythm and Blues, Cajun and
Country two steps and waltzes, Creole struts, the Blues sound of
days gone by and even a little Rock and Roll from time to time.
Zydecrunch has become and mixed up pot of gumbo that it is today.
On any given night it is not unlikely to see the band switch gears
from funky New Orleans Blues to a Cajun Waltz to whichever way the
wind blows. We like to have a good time playing great music no
matter what the situation calls for. Rather it be laid back shuffles
or hard driving Zydeco boogies, Zydecrunch strives to play music
that people will enjoy.
Interspersing a wide array of cover songs with some choice originals
creates an exciting, unpredictable show in the sense that the crowd
will never know what they are going to get themselves into. The one
thing that is always certain is that we will do our best to present
a quality show that will bring people back for more.
